This weekend, Grimsby is getting a sweet treat as we at Foodhub will be giving away thousands of FREE waffles in the town centre.
We will be jumping in our brand new waffle truck for its first outing on the 26th of September and will be handing out the delicious dessert to locals between 12.00 pm – 4.00 pm at Riverhead Square.
Not only that, we’ve launched a regional version of our hugely successful Just Delete campaign, directly targeting the biggest names in takeaway food delivery. We recently launched the campaign in major cities across the UK, including Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham and Cardiff, and it has now arrived in Grimsby.
Huge digital billboards went up around the area proclaiming ‘Delete For a Treat’ and encouraging Grimsby foodies to delete the rival food apps and visit the website to claim a free Foodhub takeaway meal.
If you’re in the Grimsby area, simply delete your Just Eat, Uber Eats or Deliveroo app and Foodhub will give you a free £10 or £5 voucher to use on a foodie feast!
Wil Chung, Foodhub spokesperson, said: “We are aware that customers know and love Foodhub because our app is, on average, 15% cheaper for the same meal from the same takeaway restaurants as Just Eat.
“We wanted to show the people of Grimsby that Foodhub is an app for the consumer and the takeaway company. In Grimsby, we have over 100 restaurants on the app so we have something for everyone’s taste buds!
“It’s cheeky and provocative – just how we like it and as we are giving out free waffles all day, we won’t run out so we’re asking people to be mindful of the ongoing COVID situation and adhere to social distancing as they get a little tasty treat to say thank you for supporting us.”
There will be more than enough waffles for everyone, so there is no need to rush there at midday – waffles will be served all afternoon between 12.00 noon and 4.00 pm. Please be mindful of social distancing guidelines whilst you are queuing, ensuring that you stay 2m apart from other waffle-lovers.
Head to Riverhead Square this Saturday to indulge in a free waffle, you’ll also be gifted with a £2.50 voucher to use on your next takeaway order – yummy!
